This game was made for Mini-Jam #73 https://itch.io/jam/mini-jam-73-power  with the theme of "Power." The jam had a limitation of using a 5 color palette. The color palette used for this game is empty_night by Enzo Gray.

CONTROLS -  (Gamepad supported)

A - left (Gamepad left d-pad)

D - right(Gamepad right d-pad)

Space - jump(X on gamepad)

Shift - (hold X) while moving to run faster.(B on gamepad)

Q  (Left Shoulder Button)t o dash left

E  (Right shoulder Button) to dash right

You can break brick patterned blocks while dashing.

Collect the yellow "power" bolts to gain 5 dash charges and 1 hp.

Collecting 100 coins to gains you an extra life.

The small drone enemies can be jumped on, but they will poke you with the spike on their sides.

The floating drones can be dashed through to be defeated. They through bouncing fireballs.

Spikes will insta-kill you.

*Based on a few comments I have fixed a color issue on the HUD header, changed the "power" orbs to lightning bolts so that they stand out separately from the coins.

**I honestly feel like the level is a mess, I will be do a redesign soon. I will also be adjusting the controls to feel less "under-watery." The dash mechanic will also be getting changed to a single button on both keyboard and gamepad.

***I have updated the controls, much simpler now. There is still an issue with "player lives" not being deducted upon death after the first, I am working to resolve this.

Message from creator - I was in a "mad-dash" to put this project together. My time frame was very limited due to an occupational emergency. There is only 1 level at the moment. I hope that is enough to give you a feel for the game. The controls and player "feel" are deeply modeled after the original Super Mario Bros. game with the added mechanic of dashing in mid-air.  As usual I have plans to continue production on this project so please leave me any suggestions or comments. Constructive feedback only makes  us better game developers.
